i think music is one of life's greatest creations. it's a common thought, but i think of it fondly nonetheless. at a surface level i can surely say i enjoy music just like anyone else! but it's omnipresent in my life and in the way i live it. i can't imagine myself without melody, rhythm and lyric.
music reaps reward unlike any other. the boundaries of the physical world vanish and all that's left is soul...
imagine dancing to a song in a language you don't even know, and with People you don't even know! but there's a collective agreement to relish the heavy bass in your chest and the freedom anonymity grants you. for a fraction of time, you are all one presence and your lives transcend into a separate slice of reality. don't you feel alive?
beyond thrill, one of my favorite music genres is jazz. it's expected of me after playing the very instrument that defines its popularity. but it perfectly encapsulates the greatest keys of music: PASSION! there is no good music without passion. human emotion is what drives a piece beyond the player and into history. jazz was built on that exactly, and every song i listen to only makes me love it more.
